This Republic Day, the programming on Oye! 104.8 FM has a flavor of Bollywood and also focus to bring about social change. Different activities are being done across the 7 staions not just on air but on ground as well.
In Delhi, the programming is around the vision to bring change in society and most importantly in peoples mindset post the tragic rape incident that had shaken the nation.
This initiative Oye FM Shradhanjali, started from Lohri, the festival of change and will come to an end on Republic Day. The core thought is to bring our society on the Road (path) to Republic (equality for all genders as enshrined by constitution of India). It’s a change which our society needs for avoiding incidents like the Gangrape. The change is not just in one case or in judiciary, policing, education and government but a complete change in the mindset of people.
Oye FM along with the people of Delhi is conducting a special activity to offer ‘Shradhanjali’ at the unfortunate Munirka bus stand from where the victim was picked. As a mark of respect, OYE FM created a platform for people to raise their voices. Oye FM has taken ownership of the bus shelter and created a Black Tribute Wall, where people can voice their feelings by pasting messages, placing flowers, candle light etc. Large number of messages in different languages are being pasted everyday on the Oye FM ‘Shradhanjali’ creative at the bus shelter. Oye FM RJs have also been visiting the bus shelter regularly and taking responses from the general public. Even on Republic Day, Oye FM RJs will be at the Munirka Bus Stand to engage with the general public and people from various NGO’s who have been visiting the venue daily.
In Mumbai and Kolkata stations, the on air programming around Republic Day will be to reflect the parallels between the Constitution of India and the unwritten Constitution of Bollywood and Tollywood. Oye FM will take a journey to unravel ‘Cinema ka Samvidhan’ where we give a filmi twist to the day and look at the formulae that make movies work.
